Gold Prices Hold Above 34500 Rupees
Gold prices were flat at Rs. 34,590 per 10 grams on scattered demand while silver prices rose by Rs. 100 to Rs. 41,600 per kg in Delhi on Monday, reported news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) quoting the All India Sarafa Association.

Similarly, sovereign gold advanced by ₹200 to ₹25,900 per piece of eight gram. Silver ready rose by ₹330 to ₹41,330 per kg and weekly-based delivery by ₹361 to ₹40,434 per kg.

In Delhi, prices of gold of 99.9% and 99.5% purities today declined by Rs 145 each to Rs 32,690 and Rs 32,540 per 10 gram, respectively. Sovereign gold, however, remained unchanged at Rs 25,200 per piece of 8 gram.
Gold Prices Jump Today But Silver Rates Drop
In global markets, gold prices today edged higher supported by a softer dollar and weakness in the equities market. Overnight, the US Federal Reserve hiked interest rates by 25 basis points, as widely expected, but what took markets by surprise was the US central bank’s commitment to retain the core of its plan to tighten monetary policy, despite rising uncertainty about global economic growth. Spot gold prices rose 0.5% to $1,249.46 per ounce.

In the national capital, gold of 99.9 per cent and 99.5 per cent purities dropped by Rs 30 to Rs 32,190 and Rs 32,040 per 10 gram, respectively. Sovereign gold stood steady at Rs 25,000 per 8 gram.

Tracking gold, silver rates also surged Rs 800 to 37,360 per kg on strong demand from industrial units and coin makers. Gold of 99.9% and 99.5% purity advanced Rs 390 each to Rs 31,850 and Rs 31,700 per 10 gram, respectively. Sovereign gold held steady at Rs 24,700 per piece of 8 grams.
