The International Energy Agency (IEA) reported on Tuesday that, 12 years from now, gas will be the world’s second largest energy fuel, after oil. This would be a result of efforts to reduce air pollution and increased use of liquefied natural gas, the agency predicted.

We estimate that aggregate demand for American natural gas (consumption + exports) totaled around 535 bcf for the week ending September 21 (up 7.0% w-o-w and up as much as 13.0% y-o-y). The deviation from the norm stayed positive and actually surged from +22% to +32% (see the chart below).

There are few disturbances that could threaten infrastructure in the Gulf of Mexico, which has taken some of the wind out of prices. Gold Silver Reports (GSR )- Technically, the price today moved away from the 100 and 200 hour MAs (blue and green lines in the chart above), but stalled near a topside trend line. The price came off against that trend line (currently at $70.35 and moving higher).
