Dow Jones futures rose early Thursday, along with S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq futures, on a tentative Brexit deal. Netflix (NFLX) earnings crushed views late Wednesday, while Dow Jones component IBM (IBM) sales fell yet again. Cronos Group (CRON) led several big marijuana stock movers overnight.
Netflix stock surged, signaling a big move above its 50-day moving average. IBM stock sold off sharply. Cronos Group stock skyrocketed, while fellow marijuana stocks Canopy Growth (CGC), Aurora Cannabis (ACB) and Tilray (TLRY) also had solid gains.
Dow Jones Futures Today
Dow Jones futures rose 0.3% vs. fair value, even with IBM stock as a drag. S&P 500 futures climbed 0.5%. Nasdaq 100 futures advanced 0.7%, boosted by Netflix stock. Remember that overnight action in Dow futures and elsewhere doesn’t necessarily translate into actual trading in the next regular stock market session.
