Timings for trading agricultural commodities on MCX
Agricultural commodities can be traded between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm on all working days (Monday to Friday).
Non-agricultural commodities can be traded between 10:00 am and 11:30 pm during summer and 11:55 during winter.
Multi-Commodity Exchange, abbreviated as MCX, functions five days a week (Monday-Friday). Like BSE and NSE, even MCX does not remain open on all Saturdays. While morning sessions are held between 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., evening sessions occur between 5:00 p.m. to 11:55 p.m. The exchange revises its evening trading session twice a year in sync with the US daylight savings time. During summer, evening session closes at 11:30 p.m. and during winter, it closes at 11:55 p.m.
MCX has announced the list of MCX trading holidays in 2020. The list includes certain regional public holidays and the national holidays. Both morning and evening sessions remain closed on the national holidays. As MCX is based in Mumbai, India, Maharashtra Day is an MCX holiday. The following list is useful to you if you are a trader of agricultural and non-agricultural commodities.
