Broader Markets Outperform, 28 August 2023: The broader market indices opened higher; the S&P BSE MidCap Index was up 0.39%, whereas S&P BSE Small Cap Index was 0.66% higher.
Fifteen out of the 20 sectors compiled by BSE advanced while five declined. S&P BSE Capital Goods and S&P BSE Industrials rose the most.
The market breadth was skewed in the favour of the buyers. About 1,920 stocks rose, 658 declined, while 166 remained unchanged on the BSE.
